Regarding the issuance by Fujian Public Security of a “bounty announcement” targeting ROC Armed Forces personnel, the Ministry of National Defense stated today (October 11) that such actions stem from the authoritarian regime’s arrogant and short-sighted mindset, with the clear intent to sow division among the Taiwanese people, undermine the authority of the ROC government, and conduct cognitive warfare through crude and clumsy tactics.
The Ministry explained that in recent years, the PRC, through its official media, has repeatedly issued so-called “wanted notices” or “reports,” primarily exploiting the open flow of information in Taiwan’s free and democratic society to piece together and fabricate personal data, aiming to divide Taiwanese society and undermine public morale. However, this also underscores the exhaustion and predicament of its existing cognitive warfare tactics.
The Ministry emphasized that safeguarding national security and protecting the well-being of the people is the unshirkable duty of every member of the ROC Armed Forces. It calls on the public to continue supporting the ROC Armed Forces and national defense development, uniting military and civilian efforts to build a strong defense force and safeguard national security.
