In response to the Chinese authorities’ accusations, the Information, Communications and Electronic Force Command (ICEFCOM) rebutted the accusations, stating on September 23 that its cyberwarfare units are responsible for maintaining national defense information and cybersecurity.

    ICEFCOM highlighted the severe circumstances facing Taiwan as well as cybersecurity threats, mentioning how the PLA and its affiliates continue to harass Taiwan with aircraft, ships, and cyberattacks, disrupting peace in the region.

    ICEFCOM will continue to follow the Ministry of National Defense’s (MND) guidance in strengthening network security and upholding national defense.
