Navy Command Headquarters Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter Regarding the Media Coverage of “IDS Is a Fabricated Issue? Government Must Know Its Limits”. (November 9th, 2019)

IDS Is by No Means a Fabricates issue. Navy: First Submarine Prototype Enters the Water in 2024.

Regarding the media coverage of “IDS Is a Fabricated Issue? Government Must Know Its Limits”, the Navy Command Headquarters emphasized today (9th) that IDS is an important policy of the government, which is currently implementing and progressing smoothly under the supervision of both the Legislative Yuan and Control Yuan, and the launch schedule of 2024 maintains unchanged. Relevant explanations are as follows:

1. IDS is a major policy of the government. The Navy Command Headquarters has proceeded to the Legislative Yuan on 28th March to implement the confidential progress report of the IDS program, then explained on the progress of the IDS and the certification of various documents to the supervisory committee members on 23rd April. The IDS program is currently implementing and progressing normally under the support and supervision of both the Legislative Yuan and Control Yuan. The Navy Command Headquarters hereby solemnly states that IDS is by no means a fabricated issue.

2. CSBC Corporation is currently planning for the establishment of a submarine park at the Keelung plant area in the future, in order to attract investment from major international manufacturers, as well as transfer OEM technology, facilitate domestic industrial development, and elevate local employed population, which are beneficial to both the country and the people, and the Navy Command Headquarters is optimistic to see the final achievement.

3. The Navy Command Headquarters will continue to uphold a prudent attitude and risk control & management. The first submarine prototype is expected to enter the water in 2024, and IDS will be completed according to the schedule. The command headquarters hereby requests the support of all citizens.
