General Yen Teh-fa, the Chief of General Staff Headquarters, Ministry of National Defense, and Major General Oscar Salvador Mojíca Obregón, the Chief of General Staff Headquarters, Ministry of Defense, Republic of Nicaragua, awarded medals to each other on behalf of the governments of  ROC and NCA, which symbolized the close military interaction and the solid relationship between ROC and NCA.Major General Oscar Salvador Mojíca Obregón, the Chief of General Staff Headquarters, Ministry of Defense, Republic of Nicaragua arrived in the Ministry of National Defense with the accompany of William M. Tapia, the ambassador of Nicaragua to ROC in the afternoon, and it was the first time for the Honor Guards and Marching Bands of the Armed Forces to welcome a VIP guest with grand military courtesies at Po-Ai Military Camp. The Medal Award Ceremony was held after their performances, many representatives of the officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces, including General Pu Tse-chun, a deputy chief and executive officer of General Staff Headquarters, Lieutenant General Wang Hsing-wei, a deputy chief of General Staff Headquarters and Lieutenant General Han Keng-sheng, participated in this ceremony.During the process of the ceremony, Chief Yen first awarded the medal of “Order of Resplendent Banner with Grand Cordon” to Major General Oscar Salvador Mojíca Obregón, the Chief of General Staff Headquarters, Ministry of Defense, Republic of Nicaragua on behalf of the government of ROC. Major General Oscar Salvador Mojíca Obregón thanked our assistance and efforts in the promotion of the diplomatic relation and the military cooperation between ROC and NCA. ROC and NCA should together dedicate in the maintaining peace, security and prosperity. Later, Oscar Salvador Mojíca Obregón, the Chief of General Staff Headquarters, Ministry of Defense, Republic of Nicaragua awarded Chief Yen the medal of “the Armed Forces of Nicaragua with Large Cordon” on behalf of the government of Nicaragua. When addressing the speech of thank, chief Yen indicated that the medal awarded to him this time was the highest honor in his military career, and it was also the special honor for all the colleagues in the Ministry of National Defense. He praised the wisdom and strong will of Chief Oscar Salvador Mojíca Obregón for that he has endeavored to maintain the national security and social stability of Nicaragua since his assumption of office and has gained prosperous results in all affairs concerning national defense and armed forces, which is very admirable.Chief Yen emphasized that he would continue in facilitating all kinds and types of military interactions and cooperation with his best efforts in order to achieve the stable development of the relationships between the governments and armed forces of ROC and NCA.
